Isle of Jura Prophecy commemorates an old legend from the island. The Campbell clan, who ruled the island at the time, rudely evicted an old woman from her home. Revealing herself to be a seer, she prophesied that the last Campbell would leave the island one-eyed and penniless, all his possessions on a cart towed by a single white horse. In 1938, the prophecy was proven true as Charles Campbell, half blinded during WWI and fallen on hard times, became the last Campbell to leave Jura packing his possessions on a cart drawn by a white horse.
