An Australian lyrebird can mimic almost any sound it hears, a car alarm, a camera shutter, another bird's call, note for note. That's the idea behind Lyre's: since launching in Sydney in 2019, the brand has built its name on recreating the taste of classic spirits without a drop of alcohol in them.

Where a lot of no and low brands stick to one or two categories, Lyre's covers the full back bar. London Dry Gin and American Malt Whiskey alternatives sit alongside Dark Cane and White Cane, standing in for dark and white rum, while Amaretti and Coffee cover the dessert liqueur end of things. For anyone who'd normally reach for an Aperol Spritz or a Campari, Bitter Italian Spritz and Italian Orange do the same job without the next day.

Every bottle is built from scratch using natural extracts and botanicals, rather than starting as a full strength spirit and stripping the alcohol back out, which the brand credits for a fuller, more rounded flavour than some dealcoholised competitors manage. It's also picked up hundreds of awards along the way from bodies including the IWSC and the San Francisco World Spirits Competition.
