To mark the bravery and dedicated service given to Orkney island home by the Royal National Lifeboat Institution, Highland Park released exactly 1,867 bottles of the Stromness Lifeboat Anniversary Bottling in January 2018. And in honour of the 55.9-foot long Severn-Class lifeboat stationed here, they bottled this special edition at 55.9% ABV. Created from a high proportion of first-fill sherry seasoned European and American oak casks with the addition of a small number of ex-bourbon casks, it’s bold and commanding in flavour, with an intense balance of lemon peel, fresh tobacco leaves, toasted oak, vanilla, and hints of fresh ginger. For every bottle sold, Highland Park made a donation to local RNLI activities in Orkney.
