Date night at home

Welcome to our ultimate guide to crafting the perfect Date Night at Home! We'll take you on a journey through every aspect of creating an unforgettable evening filled with romance, delicious food, tantalising drinks, entertaining activities, and thoughtful gifts.

1. Dinner

Now, we’re not talking about any kind of dinner, you need to make it memorable. Think of your and your partner's first date. Can you recreate it?

Most of us have our favourites: a picky dinner with all your favourite freezer food, a steak with your favourite sauce, or even your local takeaway. Our favourite type of at-home date night is a “come dine with me” style dinner. Ask your partner to prepare a starter, you can prepare the main, and both of you cook or choose the dessert of your choice. No one’s asking you to stand in the kitchen all evening, so this way, you can spend time together and share the responsibility (aka, you can’t fall out when something burns…).

2. Drinks

Few things rival the charm of coming home to a partner turned cocktail wizard, ready to surprise you with a delicious cocktail. Mixology isn't just about beverages; it's about crafting unforgettable moments.

Picture this: you walk in from a busy working day, to be met by the alluring scent of a freshly mixed cocktail. Cheers to that!

  • 50ml vanilla vodka
  • 25ml passionfruit liqueur (such as Passoã)
  • 25ml fresh lime juice

Instructions:

  • In a cocktail shaker, add the vanilla vodka, passionfruit liqueur, fresh lime juice, and sugar syrup.
  • Squeeze the juice from half of the passionfruit into the shaker.
  • Fill the shaker with ice cubes.
  • Shake vigorously until well chilled.
  • Strain the mixture into a chilled martini glass.

Pink Gin Spritz

Pink Gin Fizz is a perfect choice to start your date night! The delightful, soft pink colour of Gordon's Pink Gin complements Prosecco wonderfully, creating a sparkling and delightful experience.

3. Entertainment

So dinner is sorted, and drinks are flowing, but what entertainment have you prepared? The obvious one is to pick a film. Light some candles, bring the duvet down, get comfortable and enjoy your favourite movies together. But obviously, there’s a Threshers twist to any standard entertainment. We have a drinking game with various rules depending on the classic valentines film your watching, check them out here!
