    Freixenet

Freixenet needs no introduction if you've ever browsed a supermarket sparkling wine aisle. Since 1914, the Ferrer and Sala families behind it have grown the brand from a single Catalan cellar in Sant Sadurní d'Anoia into the world's largest producer of traditional method sparkling wine.

The instantly recognisable frosted black bottle, Cordon Negro, arrived in 1974 and turned Freixenet into a household name well beyond Spain. That heritage runs through everything here, made using the same traditional method as Champagne, where the second fermentation happens inside the bottle itself.

At Threshers you'll find both sides of the Freixenet range. There's proper Spanish Cava, including the Premium Cava Rosé, alongside an Italian Prosecco line grown in the Veneto region and made from Glera grapes, with a touch of Pinot Noir in the rosé style. A still rosé and an alcohol-free Rosado round things out for anyone after the flavour without the fizz, or without the alcohol at all.

Prosecco comes in both full 75cl bottles and handy 20cl singles, so it's just as easy to pick up one for the fridge as it is to grab a single serve on the way to a picnic. Browse what's in stock below.
