Alcohol Advent Calendars.

The 2026 range is in, from world whisky to craft gin.

Advent, but for grown ups. Our alcohol advent calendars turn the countdown to Christmas into twenty four or twenty five small discoveries, from single malt Scotch and world whisky to craft gin, premium rum, tequila and mezcal. Each door opens a different dram, so you spend December tasting your way around the world rather than working through the same bottle. Alongside the full calendars you will find miniature crackers and whisky baubles, which make easy table gifts and stocking fillers. Every calendar here is strictly for over 18s. Browse the 2026 range below and start the countdown properly.

What is inside an alcohol advent calendar

Most calendars hold twenty four or twenty five sealed miniatures, usually 3cl each, behind numbered doors. A 3cl measure is a generous single, enough to taste properly and form an opinion rather than just catch the edge of something. The better sets are curated rather than assembled, so the running order builds from lighter, approachable drams towards something worth waiting for on Christmas Eve. Several arrive as numbered editions each autumn and do not come back, which is why the good ones tend to disappear well before December.

Choosing the right one

Start with the drinker rather than the budget. Someone who already knows what they like will enjoy a single category calendar, where twenty five variations on one spirit show how much range it really has. Someone still finding their way will get more from a mixed set that crosses whisky, gin, rum and agave in one box. If the calendar is going to be shared, look at total volume rather than the door count, because a twelve day set of larger measures often pours further than a twenty five day one.

Whisky advent calendars

Whisky is where the format works hardest. A world whisky calendar travels from Speyside and Islay through Japan, Ireland, America and the newer distilleries in India and Australia, and tasting those back to back across December teaches more than a year of reading about them. Scotch focused sets stay closer to home and suit anyone who already leans towards single malt.

Gin, rum, tequila and mezcal

Gin calendars are a good way to meet the small distilleries that rarely reach a supermarket shelf, and the botanicals shift enough between doors to keep the month interesting. Rum sets run from light and grassy to heavy, aged and treacly. Tequila and mezcal collections are the newest arrival on the shelf and the most likely to surprise someone who assumed they already knew the category.

Crackers, baubles and smaller gifts

Not every gift needs twenty five doors. Miniature crackers and whisky filled baubles sit on the table, fill a stocking or finish off a hamper, and they are an easy way to give something considered without committing to a full bottle. They travel well too, which matters if you are the one carrying Christmas to someone else's house.
