10 Fantastic Champagne Cocktails to Impress Anyone

With Christmas, Valentine’s and Mother’s Day well and truly gone, you might find yourself with Champagne that you’re not quite sure what to do with. And with Easter approaching, we thought we’d give you some tips, tricks and recipes on the perfect drinks to make with Champagne, that will take your dinner hosting to the next level.

1) The Champagne Cocktail

Now, this is a classic champagne cocktail that never loses its glamour. Most of us have our favourite tipples, a classic Gordons Gin, or a nice glass of Red, but it’s time to mix it up.

The Champagne Cocktail is simple to make but packs a punch to its audience. All you need is sugar, 2-3 dashes Angostura Bitters, champagne and a lemon twist to garnish.

Here’s a little top tip from us, add a sugar cube instead of loose sugar to the flute, you’ll get a more persistent stream of bubbles throughout the evening.

2) Bellini

Peach and prosecco Bellinis are lush, fact. This is a great choice, especially if you’re looking for something a little bit lighter on alcohol!

3) Grand Royal

Of course, simplicity is key, and no one wants to be dashing around the shops getting heaps of ingredients, that’s why this 2 ingredient champagne cocktail should be music to your ears.

Needing just ¾ Grand Marnier (don’t worry, we’ve got you covered) and 4 parts champagne, you can easily create a dinner table favourite. If you’re feeling extra fancy, you can garnish your glass with a peach slice or orange peel.

4) Barbotage

Fancy taking the Grand Royal Cocktail out a mile further? A little birdy told us that if you add a splash of cognac, your cocktail suddenly becomes a dinner party must-have. We won’t assume you’ve got Cognac in, so just in case, you can pick your Cognac of choice here.

5) Vodka Champagne Cocktail

Hosting a dinner party can be stressful, and we always want to make a good impression! Well, this cocktail is the perfect champagne recipe for entertaining - it is quick, easy, and will make the guests come back for more (so make sure you stock up on our Vodka.) All you need is: Sugar cubes, vodka, bubbly of your choice and Angostura Bitters!

This one will definitely go down a treat with the sweet tooth fans.

6) Blushing Mimosa

You can never go wrong with a classic Mimosa, but why not spice it up a bit. Packing a tropical punch with its mixed pineapple and orange juice, the Blushing Mimosa is perfect to fight a winter chill. Just finish it off with a dash of Grenadine and your chosen bubbly.

7) Air Mail

Do you or your guests like something a little bit stronger? Then an Air Mail is your ideal choice. Combining Golden Rum (we stock a large variety) with champagne, sweetened with honey and spritzed with lime, it goes down easy, but don’t let that fool you… it’s got a kick!

8) Pomegranate Gin Fizz

Gin lovers, you’re in luck. We’re all for classics here at Threshers, especially a G&T. But when a Pomegranate Gin Fizz is offered, it’s a no-brainer for us. Just mix gin and pomegranate juice into your chilled glass, top it up with champagne, garnish with a few pomegranate seeds and a sprig of mint.

And why not treat yourself to our best-selling Mermaid Gin

9) Negroni Sbagliato

Catering for a range of taste buds can be difficult. First having to find a meal that everyone will eat (and enjoy) and then not to mention having drinks for all. The Negroni Sbagilato is here to save the day. A classic cocktail with a twist, by removing the traditional gin and replacing it with champagne, you create a sweet, bitter and bubbly cocktail destined to go down a treat.

10) Aperol Spritz

Talk about saving the best ‘til last. I mean, how could we not mention Aperol Spritz when talking about the best champagne cocktails? This 3-ingredient cocktail has simplicity at its heart, with no shaking, stirring or elaborate garnishes needed, it’ll be ready for your guests in as little as two minutes.
